SAS and KLM are the two airlines we suggest for Americans traveling to Sweden. SAS is a Swedish airlines that has direct flights to Stockholm. KLM is a Dutch airlines, which will get you to Stockholm with a short layover in Amsterdam (or longer if you care to indulge).
July is the height of Europe's “Holiday”, also know as tourist season, so we suggest you book your accommodations sooner than later. With the wedding located in downtown Stockholm, there are plenty of options for hotels and hostels.
As much as we'd like to think you Americans are traveling to Sweden solely for our celebration of love, we'd suggest you make the most of your trip by hitting the road and seeing more of Europe. Luckily this doesn't have to cost you an arm and a leg. Cheap transportation from Stockholm to all major European cities is abundant, whether by plane, train or automobile (although the latter may be a bit more costly considering gas prices).
